It is rare that ordinary Muslims in most Muslim countries marry for status, wealth and beauty, the three things that are mentioned inthe Hadth that you quoted. Almost no one marries for “deen”. As far as the inner beauty whatever that means concerned it is very difficult to discover. Physical beauty is something that one can see. In most Muslim societies people marry whomsoever is selected by their parents and family. Often in tribal societies a bride price is paid to the father of the bride. It is rare that marriage is an individual choice. In Western society, people often get married for love. It is interesting that the hadith you quoted as well as your guest speaker do not mention love.

Agha ji … He clarified ‘inner beauty’ … Characteristic, mannerism, humbleness & piety are all psrt of inner beauty. The term he used was ‘akhlaaq’. Love is not mentioned as in Islam there is no love before just simply lust for those engaging in what is forbidden. Anyone marrying for a ‘dowry’ is wrong as it was shunned by the Prophet (phuh) and should be a forbidden practice. Im an ordinary muslim & i married a pious guy who ultimately looked for deen. Don’t generalise please!!!!
